A Brief Description:

When pretty Dolly Randolph, barely seventeen, naive, and helpless to prevent it, is viciously assaulted and her beloved father is killed, it sets in motion a driving hatred that can only be appeased by the killing of the unscrupulous man and his two sons who are responsible.

Befriended and taken under the wing of a legendary, aged ex-gunfighter, Dolly learns under his tutelage, not only how to handle a six-gun, but additionally what it takes to kill another human being.

She is an avid student and learns quickly. After having been  armed with the knowledge and techniques necessary to get the job done, she embarks on a relentless hunt for the three men that will come to an end one way or another as she tracks them across the harsh desert southwest, toward the sleepy little village of Juarez.

Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase

Seventeen-year-old Dorothy Randolph has just turned over her father's J Bar R ranch to her ranch foreman after her father's death She will go on a quest for vengeance. She & her father were camped out when three strangers approached their camp shooting her father & raping Dorothy. She manages to get her father into town to a doctor but he later dies of his wounds. Dorothy has vowed to hunt down the three & make them pay. But, first she must find someone who can teach her the way of the gun because she has no intention of allowing them to kill her. Nathaniel Sharpton also known as Johnny Appleseed is an old ex-gunfighter & he agrees to guide her toward her goal.
Along the way she meets another gunfighter known as Kid Blakely. The "Kid" is immediately drawn to Dorothy & decides to back her if necessary when she finally finds the men.
This is a rousing tale that will makes your heart pound & leaves you breathless as you arrive at the final pages.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who is a fan of the old west & loves an excellent story of good versus evil.

5.0 out of 5 stars: One Very Determined Teenage Girl on a Mission!

By Wes Benson on Jan 19, 2013

I found this to be a very good story. This story revolves around a seventeen year old girl that has suffered a severe tragedy by seeing her father murdered and the three killers taking turns violating her. She is driven to take her revenge by killing the father and his two sons that destroyed her life. How she goes about completing her revenge while working through unbelievable hardships would be difficult for a hardened man let alone a teenage girl.

5.0 out of 5 stars: Loved it!

Well not surprised another awesome book from r. William Rogers! Just sad when it's over! Want to see what happens in Dolly and Kid's future! They made it through so much together and now it ends. Where did they go from Trinidad? Sometime you should write another one with some of the same characters in them like you did with Birdsong! Anyway Loved it and didn't want to put it down! Thanks, keep them coming!!

5.0 out of 5 stars: Another good western

By S.B. on Dec 30, 2014

This book didn't have as much Christian teaching that I am accustomed to finding in Rogers' books. It is a fast paced novel with the amount of violence that can be expected in a western. The young lady is tough. There is a bit of romance. It is a good read some ladies may think it has too much violence.

By Amazon Customer on April 25, 2013

Format: Kindle Edition

This book will keep you on your toes, pull at your heart strings and keep you up nights trying to find out what is going to happen next. This was an easy read and enjoyable too. You don't find many writers who stay clean but get the story telling done.

Story of the old west, while the main characters are gunslingers, the main character is a young girl set on revenge. Easy enjoyable read, if you like westerns.

Had to love this lady. She was amazing in so many ways. I tend to get lost in a good book, I was there, well at least in my mind, while reading this book.
