An Unlikely Friendship

Settlers of South Park - Book  #5

A Brief Description:

Wesley Swanson had just a few months prior turned thirteen and was now well on his way to becoming an integral part of the Circle C cattle ranching outfit. But all that gets shoved aside after an encounter with a massive grizzly that changes everything for him and the rest of the Clarksons and Swansons.

After being injured as a result of a mishap while at the mercy of his fleeing mare, Wes is eventually taken prisoner by the ruthless Comanches and held captive with the intent of training him as a helper for Angry Wolf, his wife, Gentle As The Breeze, and daughter, Little Fawn.

With help from their friends the Utes, Wes’s family learns of his capture and settles on a plan to bargain with the Comanches for his release. However, things get complicated after Wes attempts an ill-fated escape and suffers even further injury during his recapture.

With his family continuing to put their plan into effect, Wes is cared for by the young maiden, Little Fawn, who has been taught to speak the language of the White Eye by Billy Soaring Bird, who many summers before, was also brought to the village as a captive.

After the plan to bargain for Wes’s release is unavoidably put on hold because of an unexpected snag, it’s the stealing of Little Fawn’s friend, Morning Dove, that becomes a determining factor in the final outcome.

A Few Reader Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars: I really enjoy these books--no sex

By Don Anderson - on Nov 13, 2017

I really enjoy these books--no sex. very little violence, and based on Christian values! These books portray the early history of the west in the way that I think it actually happened. A lot of hard work every day for both men and women and a lot of family working together! I really enjoy these books!

r. William Rogers did it again! Another wonderful story--I felt I was revisiting my family! Was so good to catch up but once again I was so sad when it ended. I so want to know what happened with Wes and Little Fawn and all the other family members! Thanks for another great book. When is the next one available? You know I have bought all of them since the first free one that got me started!

I very much enjoyed this 5th book of the series; in fact I believe it is my favorite of the series. The story moved well, the characters were well developed and story was a bit different. Looking forward to Wesley and Little Fawn #6. I like that we are keeping w/the same family and each book is a different story. Well Done!

5 out of 5 stars: Used his paint brush on this one. Excellent story.

Another South Park adventure with a-you are there- story that folds into the other four books. Was very difficult for me to lay this story aside and turn off the light to get some sleep.

You think one thing is going to happen, but that doesn't. I think the ending is a great start to another book for this series.
